What is Y-AMT?

Y-AMT is a traditional manual gearbox that shifts electronically.

You can ride in:

Let the bike change gears for you.

You can switch between the two at any time while riding.

You still get:

  • Engine braking

You just don’t use a clutch or foot shifter.

FAQ

Is Y-AMT automatic?
You can ride in fully automatic or manually control gear changes using the buttons.

Can I still manually shift in automatic?
While in AT, you can still manually override gear changes - for example, downshifting to take a corner. A short while after, the AT system will kick back in again.

Do I still need a motorcycle licence?
Yes. You will still need an A licence. You can also restrict our MT-07 or Tracer 7 to be A2 licence compliant.

Can it stall?
No. The system manages revs to prevent stalling. It also has a protection for under-revving.
