R-World is calling. And when you see how much the R3 has got to offer you'll know that this is your kind of bike. Its high-revving 321cc engine gives you outstanding acceleration – and its class-leading quality, next generation Icon Blue colour scheme and aggressive styling confirms the R3 as Yamaha's ultimate lightweight Supersport.
R/WORLD IS CALLING.
The R3’s slim and athletic bodywork features a central air intake that’s inspired by Yamaha’s iconic race-winning M1 MotoGP® machine. Its radical good looks, aerodynamic race-bred fairing and aggressive dual LED headlights underline its pure R-Series DNA, making it the most desirable 300 on the road or track.
High-specification 37 mm KYB inverted front forks ensure precise suspension feel and feedback – and the combination of a low fuel tank and low handlebars gives the R3 an ergonomic riding position with plenty of comfort together with precise control. You are now ready to enter R/World.
High revving 321cc EU5 engine
With a compression ratio of 11.2:1, double overhead cams (DOHC) and four-valve cylinder heads, the 321cc two-cylinder motor is designed for quick-revving performance and high-rpm efficiency. With a maximum power output of 30.9 kW (42PS) at 10.750 rpm, the R3’s potent EU5 engine delivers thrilling acceleration with an exciting ride and a broad spread of power.
M1 inspired body with Icon Blue colour scheme
Featuring radical bodywork inspired by the race-winning YZR-M1 – and available in a duo-tone Icon Blue colour scheme – this is the sharpest R3 ever built. The central M1-style air duct gives a pure race-bred look – and with a high overall specification and idealised 50/50 weight distribution, the R3 is ready to thrill you on the road and track.
Aggressive R1-inspired face
With its glaring face, this bike is pure R-Series, and features an aggressive front fairing and a race-type screen inspired by the iconic R1. Dual LED headlights and a central air duct work with the cross-layered fairing panels to maximise cooling airflow for the EU5 engine, making this the most outstanding supersport in the 300cc A2 licence class.
Lightweight A2-license supersport bike
Whether you're an A2 licence rider or someone who wants the ultimate lightweight supersport, the R3 has the technology, performance and style that you're looking for. Developed using the same no-compromise philosophy that goes into every R-Series model, this bike's race-bred DNA is built to thrill.
Slim and lightweight sports chassis
The compact and lightweight chassis is manufactured from high tensile steel tubing that gives an optimum balance of strength and rigidity. For sporty and agile handling characteristics the R3's short wheelbase gives outstanding agility – while the near 50/50 front/rear weight distribution and accessible seat height deliver a confident and balanced ride.
R1 inspired dual LED headlights
The front fairing is equipped with R1-style headlights that underline the R3's strong genetic links with Yamaha’s larger R-Series supersport models. Utilising bright and long-lasting LED technology, the dual headlights produce excellent visibility and illumination with minimal power draw – and give the bike a radical race-bred look.
37 mm KYB inverted front forks
The R3 features 37 mm KYB inverted forks with optimised spring and damping settings. This design gives a large surface area for the sliding tube that ensures high levels of fork rigidity for sporty front-end feel and feedback without losing real-world comfort – and the special top clamp reinforces the radical YZR-M1 inspired style.
Low fuel tank and handlebar position
Thanks to the low fuel tank design and low handlebars, the R3's ergonomics give a pure supersport riding experience. As well as being extremely comfortable, the riding position makes it easy to grip the machine with your knees for improved confidence, especially when you’re tucking in close to the bodywork for maximum aerodynamic efficiency.
Lightweight wheels and supersport tyres
Featuring five pairs of thin cast spokes that complement the bike's sleek R-Series image, the 17-inch wheels are fitted with a 110/70-17 radial front tyre and a wide 140/70-17 radial rear tyre. These cast aluminium wheels with light hollow axles are both strong and stylish, while also minimising unsprung weight for refined handling performance.
Powerful braking system with ABS
The 298 mm floating-mount front disc brake ensures excellent stopping power with plenty of feel at the lever, while a 220 mm floating disc handles the braking performance at the rear. And with its ABS anti-lock braking system, the R3 rider can ride confidently – even when traction is reduced in wet or slippery conditions.
Balanced 50/50 weight distribution
Thanks to the engine placement and overall machine dimensions, the R3 features a near 50/50 front/rear weight distribution – widely regarded as being the ideal set up for supersport bikes – giving precise handling performance, easy agility and plenty of feedback from the road.
Digital multi-function instruments
The R3 features multi-function LCD instruments that display information on gear position, fuel capacity, real time and average fuel economy. There’s also a water temp gauge, clock, oil change indicator and trip meter – all presented in a clean, modern layout.
